Incident & crisis communication
Build the skills to communicate effectively during cybersecurity incidents and crises, supporting resolution and containment.
Regulatory notification
Master the communication activities required for compliance notification to regulators and stakeholders.
Reputation management
Develop regular communication practices that protect and improve organisational reputation with stakeholders.
Learning outcomes
Participants learn to plan, develop and conduct the communication activities expected from cybersecurity leaders, both in normal operations and in crisis situations.

Students will be able to recognise, plan and conduct communication activities that contain incidents, meet notification requirements and preserve organisational reputation.

Understand the principles and practice of communicating during a crisis.
Week 5: Crisis Communication Plan
Build a crisis communication plan ready to activate when needed.
Week 6: Notification Requirements
Understand regulatory notification obligations and how to meet them.
Week 7: Corporate Communication
Align cybersecurity communication with broader corporate communication practices.
Week 8: Selling Cybersecurity
Develop the skills to communicate the value of cybersecurity to business stakeholders.
Week 9: Cybersecurity Awareness
Understand the role of awareness as an essential control for the human factor.
Week 10: Awareness Campaigns
Design and plan awareness campaigns for different audiences.
Week 11: Putting It All Together
Integrate communication, crisis and awareness activities into a coherent plan.
Week 12: Presentation of Students' Plans
Presentation of selected students' communication plans.

The module gives 5 ECTS and concludes with a certificate distributed at the end of the training.
